At least 25 people were injured on Friday morning as activists of the ruling Awami League and main opposition BNP locked in clash in the district town.
BNP district unit President Wadud Bhuiyan said the AL activists attacked them on their way back to the party office following a wreath laying ceremony for Victory Day.
AL General Secretary Md Jahedul Alam blamed BNP for the attack, saying they were trying to destabilise the hill town.
“We will launch a case against the BNP activists including Wadud,” he added.
