President’s speech focused on the various development activities of the incumbent government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, ruling party lawmaker Kazi Nabil Ahmed told the parliament.
Kazi Nabil Ahmed hailed president’s recent speech while taking part in general discussion on thanks giving motion of the president’s speech on Monday evening.
On January 20, President Md. Abdul Hamid gave a speech on the first day during of the ninth session of the 10th parliament. President Hamid highlighted government's development activities in social, political and economic sectors.
The lawmaker expressed hope as the Jessore Airport would be turned into International Airport and the oldest town of the country would be promoted as City Corporation soon.
He also said people of Jessore have been eagerly waiting for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to inaugurate Jessore Medical College’s own campus.
The ruling party lawmaker said under the firm determination and farsightedness of Prime Minister is heading towards a middle income country also a developed country within 2021 and 2041 respectively.
