A Chittagong court has issued arrest warrant against former MP and Jamaat leader Md Shahjahan Chowdhury in a case filed over his involvement with subversive act.
The court of Chittagong Metropolitan Session Judge Shahe Nur issued the arrest warrant on Tuesday afternoon, said Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Fakhruddin Chowdhury.
The court also issued warrants against 11 others in the same case.
PP Advocate Fakhruddin Chowdhury said the 12 are accused in a case filed for killing a three-wheeler driver in Chittagong city’s Chandgaon area on March 25, 2013 during the BNP's countrywide blockade programme.
The case was shifted to the Metropolitan Session Judge Court from the lower court for trial.
Jamaat leader Shahjahan was elected from Chittagong’s Satkania constituency earlier.
