Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leaders and activists, who were deprived of any post in the newly formed central committee, have ransacked BNP’s central office in the capital’s Nayapaltan.
They have also set fire on two motor bikes parked in front of the office, said police.
Paltan police station OC Murshed Alam told the Dhaka Tribune that a group of deprived JCD activists entered into the BNP office and ransacked the furniture at around 4:15pm on Monday.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
However, no unruly JCD men were detained in this connection, said the police official.
Meanwhile, locals doused the fire before reaching the firefighters on the spot.
