Leader of the opposition in parliament Raushan Ershad yesterday held a meeting with the prime minister in parliament.
The meeting started at around 6:05pm and continued till 6.50pm, said a source.
The meeting came several days after Jatiya Party Co-Chairman GM Quader had told media that both Ershad and Raushan sought time from Prime Minister to discuss the ongoing crisis of the party.
The crisis in the JaPa surfaced once again when Ershad appointed his younger brother GM Quader as the co-chairman of the party.
The very next day Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu was relieved and ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader was appointed as the secretary general.
When asked whether they discussed the Jatiya party’s crisis, Raushan said: “Why should I discuss it. It is our internal problem.”
On GM Quader’s appointment as co-chairman Raushan said: “Fresh blood will be injected into the party. It is party’s routine work.”
About the rumour that Jatiya Party is splitting up she ruled out the possibility saying that all are united.
After meeting with the premier, Raushan sat with the party lawmakers and cabinet members in her office in parliament.
Former Secretary General Ziauddin Bablu left the meeting half way through.
