BNP alleges ballot stuffing against AL men

BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the ruling party supporters engaged in ballot stuffing in the municipal polls.

Rizvi made the accusation while addressing a press briefing at party's Nayapaltan headquarters on Wednesday morning.

He said even the AL men ended fake vote casting before 8am, starting hour of the voting.

“They have also forced out the BNP agents from the polling centres and stumped on the boat symbol,” he alleged.

Rizvi claimed that such sort of vote stuffing were also reported from at least 22 districts including Jhalkhati, Bhola, Sreepur of Gazipur, Kalia of Narail, Feni, Natore, Jamalpur, Moulavibazar, Noakhali, Lukshmipur, Chandpur, Borghuna, Bhola and some places of Chittagong.

The election officials and members of law enforcement agencies turned helpless in the face of intervene of the ruling party leaders and activists, Rizvi went on.

Meanwhile, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Adviser Osman Faruk alleged the ruling party Awami League activists have taken control of about 60 polling centres across the country within two hours of the voting.

He said: “Whatever happens, we will fight the polls till the end.”

He lodged this allegation to the Election Commission on Wednesday morning.
