Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is planning to warm up party activities in Chittagong through the upcoming municipal polls scheduled to be held on December 30.
The party has already undertaken some plans for conducting a hectic electoral campaign in 10 municipalities in the district.
The municipalities where the polls are going to be held are Sandwip, Banshkhali, Chandanaish, Satkania, Mirsarai, Patiya, Raozan, Rangunia, Baryarhat and Sitakunda.
The party insiders said the top brass of the organisation would soon come to Chittagong and conduct electoral campaign in favour of the candidates nominated by the party.
Apart from central leaders, the senior leaders of Chittagong will also join the electoral campaign for boosting the morale of its leaders and activists at grassroots.
Leaders including BNP vice-chairman Abdullah Al Noman, adviser to the chairperson Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, former city mayor Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin, BNP organising secretary Golam Akbar Khondokar, former minister Jafrul Islam Chowdhury and Aslam Chowdhury will conduct the campaign in favour of the party favourites, said the party insiders.
The party chairperson Khaleda Zia would hold a meeting within a couple days with the top brass of the organization over polls issue.
