Police have arrested six Shibir leaders with 11 hand bombs from Arambagh area in the capital.
Acting on tip-off, a team of Motijheel police conducted raid in a students’ mess in Arambagh area on Saturday morning and arrested them while holding a clandestine meeting, said ASI Mofizur Rahman of Motijheel police station.
Some 11 hand bombs and huge publications of the organisation were recovered from the mess during the drive, he said.
The arrested Shibir leaders are Motijheel thana unit president Abdur Rahman, its general secretary Afzal Hossain, Paltan thana unit president Russel Amin, Ward No. 8 president Alamgir Hossain, and its general secretary Abdul Quaiyum and Masudur Rahman.
The Shibir men will be sent to the court on Saturday, said the police official.
