After the terror attack in Paris, police in Bangladesh are on high alert, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan. “We are always alert.”
He told the the Dhaka Tribune yesterday that police are vigilant, especially after the recent attacks in the country.
The Paris terror attacks caused panic around the world as well as in Bangladesh, where two foreigners were killed by miscreants, the responsibilities of which were also allegedly claimed by the Islamic State.
However, law enforcers denied the claim, saying no evidence of the IS’s existence in the country were found during the investigation.
Muntasirul Islam, deputy commissioner at Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said strong security measures have been adopted around the country following the attacks, and any fault found in the security procedure would be taken care of immediately.
