14-party: Khaleda, Tarique behind recent murders

Awami League-led 14-party alliance leaders have said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is hatching a conspiracy to turn Bangladesh into a land of militancy and terrorism.

The ruling alliance leaders made the remarks at different programmes in Dhaka yesterday.

“With an aim to come to power, Begum Khaleda Zia is leading a conspiracy by creating untoward incidents and creating anarchy in the country,” said Jatiyo Samajtantrik Dal (JaSaD) President and Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu.

He made the statement while briefing journalists in his office at the Secretariat.

Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said: “From London, BNP chief Khaleda Zia is planning to create anarchy in Bangladesh by killing people in the name of another phase of anti-government movement.”

He made the remark while addressing at a discussion at the Dhaka Reporters Unity.

In the same programme, Food Minister Qamrul Islam said that people, detained for and accused of the recent murders of foreigners, publisher and bloggers, have admitted that they were involved with the politics of BNP and Jamaat.

“So, it is crystal clear that Begum Zia nad her son Tarique Rahman are behind the murders.”
