Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has condemned at the killing of a publisher at Shahbagh on Saturday.
They also protested at the attack on three people, including the owner of Shuddhashwar publishing house at Lalmatia in the capital city.
Expressing grave concern over the killing and the attacks, the parties -two key components of the 20-party alliance, demanded exemplary punishment of the killers and attackers and their masterminds.
In a statement, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir termed the killing and the attack a “cowardice act”.
“The perpetrators must be arrested immediately and brought to justice,” added the BNP leader.
