Ruling Awami League Publicity and Publications Secretary yesterday said BNP leaders and activists are upset with party chief Khaleda Zia for having rented a house in London under the guise of getting treatment.
The ruling party leader further blamed her and Tarique Rahman for plotting conspiracies at secret meetings with terrorists and militants after having reached London.
Hassan Mahmud made these remarks at a meeting organised by Bangabandhu Projonmo League at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital yesterday.
Criticising BNP’s recent activities, he said: “BNP Acting Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and International Affairs Secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon have organised a press conference at Naya Paltan so that the nation’s populace don’t think the BNP has been annihilated.”
At the same programme, Food Minister Qamrul Islam said: “Khaleda Zia and her son Tareque have tried to foil the country’s quiet atmosphere by spreading conspiracies.”
