Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL) President Abdul Kader Siddiqui and his wife Nasrin Siddiqui have appealed at the Election Commission against the cancellation of their nomination papers for Tangail 4 by-poll.
The KSJL issued a press statement yesterday, according to which the KSJL president and his wife went to the Election Commission yesterday afternoon to submit their petition challenging the commission’s decision. There is a possibility of a hearing in this regard at the EC tomorrow, the press statement said.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Bank has sent a show cause notice to Agrani Bank Ltd for allegedly providing faulty information to the central bank’s Credit Information Bureau (CIB).
According to the press statement, the letter was addressed to the managing director of the bank and asked why the bank changed the information regarding Kader Siddiqui’s Sonar Bangla Engineering Corporation’s loan in the bank repeatedly and submitted misinformation at the CIB database.
The central bank ordered Agrani Bank to reply by October 14, but the bank has yet to respond for unknown reasons, according to the press statement.
