The ruling Awami League has picked Hasan Imam Khan Sohel Hazari for the Tangail 4 by-poll slated for November 10.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave the green signal to Sohel at a parliamentary board meeting at Ganabhaban yesterday.
Former Kalihati upazila chairman Sohel is a Joint Secretary of AL’s Central Sub-committee.
The constituency was declared vacant from September 1 after expelled Awami League leader Latif Siddique tendered his resignation letter to the speaker.
