Police, in a drive, have detained 14 alleged activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir from a coaching centre in Satkania upazila in Chittagong district.
The details of the detainees, aged between 18 to 22 years, could yet to be ascertained immediately while police were scrutinizing their identity, Farid Uddin Khondokar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkania police station told the Dhaka Tribune.
Being informed police raided one BT Coaching Centre at upazila’s Keranir Hat area at around 3:30pm on Sunday and detained the 14 Shibir men during holding a clandestine meeting for committing subversive acts, said OC Farid.
“We had information that Jamaat-shibir men were regrouping behind the coaching centre in the area,” added the OC.
Legislative measures were undergoing with Satkania police station in this regard.
