A Jubo Dal leader was hacked to death at Siladi village, Laxmipur Sadar upazila on Thursday night.
Sabuj Hossain was the general secretary of no 1 Siladi union unit Jubo Dal and son of Abu Taher of the area, said Khaled Mohammad Kiron, general secretary of Kusakhali union of the youth front of the BNP.
Quoting locals, police said a gang of miscreants had intercepted Sabuj when he was returning to his home from his poultry farm around 11:30pm and hacked him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
Family members said Sabuj had gone out of house after receiving a phone call. Later on, they had received the death news of him.
Oli Ullah, brother of the deceased, filed a case with Chandraganj police station yesterday afternoon accusing 10 people.
Accused of the case include Bela Hossain, Anwar Hossain, Jahir Hossain, Mohin Uddin, Riyad Hossain and Mansura Begum.
Belal confessed to the killing, said OC Humayun Kabir of Chandraganj police station.
