A Jubo League activist has been hacked to death in a factional clash between two groups of the ruling party affiliate organaisation in Swandip upazila of Chittagong district on Friday night.
The deceased is identified as Monir Hossain, 28.
Swandip Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) HM Mosiur Rahman confirmed the Dhaka Tribune.
Police arrested one following the incident, he added.
The OC said a factional clash triggered between two groups Jubo League at Mogdhara Bazar of Shoholshar area of the upazila at around 7pm while the rival men hacked Monir with sharp weapon, leaving him injured critically.
Later he was rushed to a local hospital where the on duty doctors declared him dead, he added.
However the police official could not ascertain the reason behind the clash saying that police is investigating the murder incident.
