Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday asked the newly elected office bearers of Bangladesh Chhatra League to revive public trust in student politics.
“You will have to regain the people’s confidence in student politics so that everyone can see that they can deliver something for the nation. This is how the Chhatra League can show the path to others,” she said at a meeting with the new Chhatra League central committee at Ganabhaban in the afternoon, UNB reported.
The prime minister reiterated that she had neither given nor would give shelter to those who commit offences.
Earlier, newly elected Chhatra League President Saifur Rahman Sohag, General Secretary SM Zakir Hossain, and other members of the committee paid tribute to Bangabandhu at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi around 12:30pm.
