Senior Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta has blamed the government for the recurrence of road accidents across the country.
The government cannot evade shouldering responsibility for the road accidents. “There can be no excuse for the deaths of 29 people on a single day [Thursday],” Suranjit, a member of the party’s Advisory Council, told a discussion at the capital’s Diploma Engineers’ Institute.
“Negligence of the law enforcement agencies in this regard is not acceptable. The government has to shoulder responsibility for the deaths,” said the former minister.
Dozens of people have died since the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation on the highways across the country, including in Sirajganj.
