Shakhawat: N'ganj residents want changes

BNP mayoral candidate Shakhawat Hossain Khan demanded deployment of the armed forces for the polls scheduled to be held on December 22. Shakhawat came up with statement at a press briefing after submitting nomination papers on Thursday. Shakhawat also said the people of Narayanganj wanted change of the current situation. He also demanded a level playing field for a free and fair election. He submitted the nomination papers to the returning officer, Mohammad Nuruzzaman Talukder, yesterday, the last day for filing nomination. Local BNP leader Taimur Alam Khandokar, Moniruzzaman, ATM Kamal, Abul Kalam, Giasuddin and Ataur Rahman Angur were present on the occasion.
