Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her gratitude to the people of the country for their continuous support to the Awami League and giving its scope repeatedly to serve them.
She came up with gratefulness while addressing parliament in an unscheduled discussion on Tuesday.
“There were so many attempts to destroy Awami League, the decades-old political organisation of this subcontinent, but fortunately all those attempts went vain.”
The Awami League president also said there were so many attempts to destroy Awami League, but no one has been successful in those attempts and will never be either.
Meanwhile, ruling party lawmakers told the parliament that all achievements of Bengali nation came under the leadership of the party.
Standing on point of order in the parliament on the occasion of the 66th founding anniversary of the ruling Awami League, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said: “Whatever achievements and creations of our nation has come under Awami League, Bangabandhu and Sheikh Hasina.
There is no shareholder here.”
Amu said Bangladesh has got a complete map following sea victories with Myanmar and India and implementation of the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He alleged that those who came in power other than Awami League tried to distort the history of Liberation War.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said being liberated from Pakistan under the leadership of Awami League and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh stands in higher position than Pakistan in many social and economic index and even than India in some cases.
“We will make Bangladesh as a Sonar Bangla (Golden Bengal) that was dreamt by Bangabandhu,” he said.
