The BNP has termed the abduction of a member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) by Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) is a shameless chapter for Bangladesh.
Asaduzzaman Ripon, acting spokesperson of the party, said this at a press briefing at party's Nayapaltan headquarters in the capital on Saturday.
He demanded immediate return of the abducted BGB member and also demanded to enhance the capacity of the border guard force.
“Myanmar Border force has abducted our BGB Nayek Abdur Razzak. We have seen a picture in the Facebook that was published in Myanmar newspaper. In the picture it was seen that Razzak’s hands were locked up. It is a shame for us,” said Ripon.
The BNP leader said: “We will ask the government to return abducted Abdur Razzak immediately. We are observing that our border guard force is not being trained up properly. We are urging the government to enhance expertise and capacity of them.”
