A BNP activist and a Jamaat activist were detained in Tungipara, Tungipara on Tuesday afternoon, in apprehension of subversive activities ahead of Wednessday's hartal.
The detainees are Zakir Hossain, 50, Kushali union president of BNP, and Azizul Huq, 60, a Jamaat activist from Pakuratiya village.
OC Monirul Islam of Tungipara police confirmed they were detained in apprehension of subversive activities on the Wednesday hartal called by Jamaat.
