A local leader of ruling Awami League has been shot by unidentified miscreants at Malitola in capital's Bongshal area.
The injured is Hazi Mohammad Ripon, 35, Awami League's organising secretary of ward 35.
Ripon has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 2pm Monday, immediately after he was shot by the miscreants, said DMCH police outpost In-Charge Mozzamel Hoque.
While talking to the Dhaka Tribune, Ripon claimed that four to five people led by his opponent Ashik, also a member of the Awami League, shot him.
However, detail regarding the attack could not be known immediately.
