Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the BNP and its key political ally Jamaat-e-Islami do not know any other politics except politics of destruction.
She said: “The Awami League led government always put emphasise on practicing politics of development whereas BNP-Jamaat is doing politics of destruction.”
The premier made the statement while addressing a public rally at Chapainawabganj Government College ground on Saturday afternoon, hours after she inaugurated a bridge named after her on Mohananda river.
Referring to the nationwide incidents of arson, she said: “The BNP-Jamaat alliance enforced the nationwide blockade and hartals and killed innocent people. They are still conducting destructive activities being instructed by their leader Khaleda Zia.”
“Khaleda Zia stayed inside her political office during the countrywide political deadlock while the common people of the country suffered the most.”
Noting that those, who launched the nationwide arson, will must face trial for their ill political practice, Sheikh Hasina also warned that her government would not tolerate any more killings.
Lauding the role of the present government in development, the PM further said: “After assuming power, the AL government eradicated poverty and hunger from the north of the country. Moreover, 70% people are getting electricity.”
“By 2021, Bangladesh will be free of hunger and poverty.”
Regarding the government's success over the passage of Land Swap Bill in Indian Parliament, she said: “Whenever we form the government, we realize the deserved rights from India. Now the people of the enclaves are getting the civic rights.”
She called upon the countrymen to strengthen the hand of the Awami League government in order to save the country from the hand of the “enemies of the humanity.”
