A total of 282 expatriates are returning home from Bahrain on a special flight of Gulf Air.
The flight departed from Bahrain at approximately 10:45 AM local time on Friday (March 20).
It is expected to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka the same day at 6:45 PM.
Earlier, an initiative was taken to bring back Bangladeshi expatriates stranded in Bahrain via a special flight due to the ongoing war situation in the Middle East.
Under the coordination of the Bangladesh Embassy in Manama, arrangements were made for this special Gulf Air flight (Dammam to Dhaka).
The embassy had previously informed that the ticket price for each seat was approximately 300 Bahraini Dinars.
This fare included the cost of bus transportation from Bahrain to Dammam (Saudi Arabia) and the necessary Saudi transit visa.
Passengers were allowed to carry one 23 kg baggage and a handbag.
Interested Bangladeshis were requested to complete their registration by March 16.
Following the registration process, these 282 expatriates are now returning to the country.
