Former Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Shahryar ZR Iqbal’s namaz-e-janaza will be held today after Zohr prayers at Baitus Salam Jam-e Masjid, 3/11 Iqbal Road, Mohammadpur.
The lifelong civil servant passed away on July 15 in Toronto, Canada. He will be buried at the Azimpur graveyard.
He started his career as a Magistrate in Moulvibazar and later served as the assistant private secretary to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was married to late professor Khadija Rahman, and leaves behind his two children, Zeenat Rahman and Tausif Rahman.
