Actor Masud Ali Khan passes away

Due to prolonged illness, the esteemed actor Masud Ali Khan had been away from acting for a long time

Ekushey Padak-winning veteran actor Masud Ali Khan passed away on Thursday. He was 95.

The prominent actor died at 4:20pm at his residence in Kalabagan in the capital. 

His wife had served him lunch around noon, and upon checking on him around 4pm, she found him unresponsive. Doctors arrived shortly after and pronounced him dead, according to his relatives. 

He had suffered from various complications for the last couple of years.

The burial of the actor will take place on Friday after the Zohr prayer in Khan Baniapara village, Manikganj.

As a founding member of the country's first theater troupe, Drama Circle, his contributions to stage, television, film, and radio are immeasurable. His performances in numerous iconic productions garnered him widespread acclaim from audiences.

Due to prolonged illness, the esteemed actor Masud Ali Khan had been away from acting for a long time.

He was unable to walk properly because of his age, relying on a wheelchair for mobility. As a result, he spent most of his time indoors.

He gained nationwide recognition for his performance in the BTV drama "Kul Nai Kinar Nai".

Masud Ali Khan made his film debut with "Nadi O Nari" and went on to appear in numerous films, including "Jonakir Alo", "Dipu Number 2", "Matir Moina", "Dui Duari", and "Molla Barir Bou".

He was also well-known for his roles in the iconic drama series "Kothao Keu Nei" and "Ei Sob Din Ratri".

Additionally, he appeared in popular series such as "Ekanno Borti", "69", and "Poush Phaguner Pala".
