The 27th death anniversary of Dr Sofia Hasna Jahan Ali), professor, Department of Economics, Dhaka University, would be held on Monday.
Besides serving as the president of the Lioness Club of Dhaka East and the vice president of the Bangladesh Economic Association, Dr Sofia, wife of late Dr Shaikh Maqsood Ali, was engaged in many other social development activities, says a press release.
She was also reputed as an outstanding sportswoman and an exemplary sports organizer.
