Monday marks the 27th death anniversary of veteran journalist Anwarul Islam Bobby.
He passed away on this day in 1994 in Dubai, on his way to London for leukaemia treatment.
Throughout his professional career, Bobby was involved with several newspapers. He started his career in journalism with the Pakistan Observer.
He was also the youngest secretary general of All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS).
Bobby founded English daily the Morning Sun in Dhaka, the weekly health magazine Pulse, and the first regional English daily from Chittagong, the Daily Life.
He cooperated with Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni in founding the Bangladesh Times and the Weekly Cinema.
He also ran the daily Banglar Bani for a brief period.
His family, friends, and well-wishers are requested to pray for his departed soul.
