Today is the ninth death anniversary of late Quazi Azher Ali, a distinguished educationist, former secretary of Bangladesh government, founder president and first vice chancellor of Bangladesh University, organizer of innumerable educational institutions and social worker.
On this occasion, Quazi Azher Ali’s grave will be visited in the morning to pay respects followed by a milad mahfil and doa which will be held at Bangladesh University premises in Mohammadpur at 11am.
Quazi Azher Ali passed away at the age of 75 on December 15, 2009, due to old age complications. He received his education from the University of Cambridge and later joined the erstwhile Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP).
After independence, he undertook numerous humanitarian activities. Apart from the social works, he also wrote several books.
