Students have returned 40 weapons looted from the security personnel of the National Parliament Building.

A person involved in the security work of the Secretariat confirmed the return of the weapons on Tuesday.

The weapons were initially seized by the public. Later, the students handed them over.

Tanvir Hasan, deputy sergeant at arms of the Bangladesh Parliament, told the media that the public had seized 40 weapons from the security personnel of the National Parliament Building.

“The students have returned them, showing a sense of responsibility."

In the face of mass protests, Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister on Monday. Following her resignation, the public entered her official residence Ganabhaban, the Prime Minister's Office and the Sangsad Bhaban, to celebrate the end of her regime.

Many protestors were seen coming out of Ganabhaban with valuable items, televisions, flower pots, chairs, blankets, ducks, buckets, fish and meat.

On the other hand, a portion of the protesting students and the public offered prayers after entering the premises.
