State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmad said the government has for the first time formulated a work plan to send 1,000 workers abroad per year from every upazila of the districts lagging behind in migration.
“It is open for all from all regions of the country going abroad as workers. No quota system is followed in this regard,” he said at the parliament on Thursday, reports BSS.
The state minister said workers are being sent to 173 countries so far and all data of the expatriate workers are recorded in a database.
