The Parliament Secretariat will launch a budget information help desk from Tuesday at its premises to assist lawmakers in delivering their address during the first budget session of the 11th parliament.
With the cooperation of the Budget Analysis and Monitoring Unit (BAMU), the parliament secretariat will set up the desk at level three of the northeast block of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, said an official release signed by JS director (Public Relations 1) M Tarik Mahmood on Sunday.
Lawmakers can collect important information from the help desk before addressing the session.
“The budget help desk will play an important role in delivering informative, constructive and lively speech to be presented by the lawmakers,” the release added.
The budget session will begin on Tuesday. It is the first budget session after the Awami League government assumed office with a landslide victory in the 11th parliamentary polls held on Dec 30.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will place the national budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year in the house on Thursday.
