Parliament gets Tk328cr budget for FY20

The commission also approved the supplementary budget for the current fiscal year

Jatiya Sangsad secretariat commission has approved an estimated Tk328.22 crore budget for parliament for its development and non-development expenditures for the coming fiscal year, FY2019-2020.

The approval was given at the 30th meeting of the parliament secretariat commission, held at parliament on Thursday with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in chair, said a press release.

The commission also approved a supplementary budget for the current fiscal 2018-19, and projected budgets for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 fiscal years.

Members of the commission Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina, Deputy Leader of the Opposition Rawshan Ershad, on behalf of the opposition leader, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq were present at the meeting.

Chief Whip Nur-E-Alam Chowdhury attended the meeting at the special invitation.

Creation of new posts in different departments of the Jatiya Sangsad secretariat, promotion and increasing the security of the Sangsad Bhaban also came up for discussion.

Housing and Public Works Ministry secretary made a pictorial presentation on the renovation of the lake of the Jatiya Sangsad.

Senior Secretary of Jatiya Sangsad secretariat Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan, Finance Division Senior Secretary Abdur Rouf Talukder, Housing and Public Works Ministry Secretary Md Shahid Ulla Khandaker and other officials of the Jatiya Sangsad secretariat were also present.
