Ananta Jalil to provide aid to Kurigram flood victims

Businessman and film actor Ananta Jalil is in Kurigram to provide aid to flood victims. He arrived at Kurigram's Chilmari union in a helicopter on Thursday afternoon. He will provide assistance to around 2,400 families in three unions who have been affected by the flood. Thanahat UP Chairman Abdur Razzak Milon confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune. He said: “Ananta will be at Thanahat union's Pilot High School to provide relief to around 1,100 families. He will also provide relief to around 800 families of Ramna union and 500 families of Chilmari union.” After landing in Chilmari, Ananta Jalil told the Dhaka Tribune: “I came here to help the flood victims. This is not an act of sympathy. I think the people affected by the flood have the basic human right to get help.” He also said: “I want to address the rich people of our society and ask them to come forward to support the flood victims with whatever means possible.”
