RAB 7 made the detention on the Chittagong airport premises around 12:30pm Thursday.
The elite force is set to brief the media on the matter at 3pm.
RAB 7 Assistant Director (media wing) Chnadan Dev Nath confirmed it to the Dhaka Tribune, saying that apart from the 39, they had also detained several human traffickers.
Identities of the detainess would be disclosed at the press conference, the AD added.
