Police have arrested three people, including a woman, allegedly associated with local teenage gang leader Wakil Hossain Boga, during a raid in the Jalalabad area under Khulshi police station in Chittagong.
The three were arrested on Saturday night based on a tip-off, police said.
The arrestees are Abdul Hannan, Monir Hossain, alias Emon, and Sabiha Begum. Police said five to six cases are pending against Hannan and Emon.
According to police, Wakil Hossain Boga, an expelled former joint convener of the city unit of Swechchhasebak Dal, controls several teenage gangs and faces at least 16 criminal cases.
Recently, a clash took place between the "Seven Star" gang, allegedly controlled by Wakil, and a rival group known as "Five Star". A teenager, Mohammad Hridoy, was killed in the clash.
Abdur Rahim, officer-in-charge of Khulshi police station, said the three associates of Wakil were arrested during a raid based on secret information.
They will be produced before the court, he added.
