With a call for literary practice, creative writing, and engaging the new generation in the literary arena, the Rajshahi Sahitya Parishad's inauguration and Eid Reunion 2026 was held on Saturday at Postal Academy auditorium.
The chief guest was Kazi Mamunur Rashid, Principal of the Postal Academy, Rajshahi. The program was presided over by Professor Md Abdus Salam, former Registrar of Rajshahi University.
Special guests who spoke were Rajshahi Press Club General Secretary Md Golam Mostafa Mamun, Mahbub Siddiqui, Mostak Rahman, Tajim Uddin, and Dr Matiur Rahman.
Speakers said, literature is the mirror of society and it plays an immense role in preserving and developing a nation's history, culture, values, and human consciousness.
In the present time, a combined initiative by writers, readers, and cultural activists is needed to expand reading habits and literary practice.
Chief Guest Kazi Mamunur Rashid said, novels, stories, poems, and research-oriented literature bring out the deep realities of human life, society, and history.
The new generation must be more involved in literary practice. Literature must play an effective role in building a society based on human values , he added.
