An eight-year-old child was killed after falling off his father’s motorcycle in Debidwar upazila of Comilla on Sunday morning.
The accident occurred in the Baniapara area under Debidwar Municipality along the Comilla–Sylhet regional highway.
The deceased was identified as Md Khalid (8), son of Moazzem Hossain Swapan from Gopalnagar village in the upazila.
According to witnesses, the child was traveling with his father by motorcycle to a local madrasa. At one point, he fell off the vehicle and was run over by a covered van. Locals rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Debidwar Police Station, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, said police were aware of the incident and were present at the scene.
