Police recovered the body of a 60-year-old woman stuffed inside a sack from the Bejpara area of Jessore town on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Sakina Begum, wife of Lal Chand Khalifa, a resident of Bejpara Main Road.
According to family members, Sakina’s son, Shahidul, left for his shop around 9:00am on Tuesday after his wife Mariam told him there was no food prepared at home. When he inquired about his mother, he was informed that she had gone out, reports UNB.
Returning home around 10:00pm, Shahidul could not find his mother and grew suspicious. He later informed police.
At around 12:30am, he noticed a sack lying in front of the house. Upon opening it, he and his sister, Shahida Begum, identified the body as that of Sakina Begum.
Police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.
