5 held with huge drugs in Rangpur

After filing two separate cases in these incidents, the elite force handed over the arrested persons and seized drugs to the concerned police station for further legal actions

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in two separate drives seized huge contraband drugs and arrested five alleged drug dealers from different places of Rangpur district on Sunday.

The seized drugs included 10.3 kg of hemp and 125 bottles of phensedyl-like Fairdyl syrup, a press release said in the afternoon.

On a tip off, a smart team of the RAB-13 in a raid seized 10.3 kg of ganja and arrested three persons from the Islampur Boiragai Bazar area under Mithapukur police station at 4pm.

The arrestees are Md Delwar Hossain, 28, and Md Momin Mia, 29, of village Rudreswar under Kaliganj police station and Md Ziarul Islam, 40, of village Doi Khawa under Hatibandha police station of Lalmonirhat district. 

In another raid, the RAB-13 from Rangpur seized 125 bottles of Fairdyl syrup and arrested two persons from the Park Mour area under Tajhat metropolitan police station in Rangpur city at 11.50am on Saturday. 

The arrested persons are Mst Papia Begum, 32, of village Talpara Bhimpur under Panchbibi police station of Joypurhat and Mst Mariam, 30, of village Banglahili under Hakimpur police station of District-Dinajpur.
