Rajshahi University (RU) successfully conducted the admission test for its ‘B’ Unit of the 2025–26 academic session on Saturday with around 90 percent of applicants attending.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib, announced the figures during a press conference at the Rabindranath Tagore Academy Building.
This year, 30,886 students applied for the ‘B’ Unit, which includes six departments under the Faculty of Business Studies and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). Of these applicants, 18,452 were from business disciplines, while 12,434 were from non-business fields.
The number of seats has been increased to 564, up from 559 last year, meaning approximately 55 applicants are competing for each seat.
Professor Naqib noted that the admission test was held simultaneously.
“We visited several exam halls and observed about 90 percent attendance. No untoward incidents were reported here or at other centers across the country. The exam is being held in a single shift today,” he added.
