A man was hacked and beaten to death at Pabahati City Mor in Jhenaidah town on Saturday afternoon, allegedly over a trivial family dispute. The deceased, Murad Hasan, 38,was the son of late Afzal Hasan of Mondol Para in Pabahati.
Locals said his father died last Saturday, and cousin Alam Mondol mocked him for not arranging a kulkhani, sparking a clash on Friday. The next day, Alam’s son Saurav allegedly arrived with several accomplices on motorbikes and attacked Murad with local weapons. He died at Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital. Police sent the body for post-mortem and are preparing a case.
