The army recovered a pistol, ammunition and homemade machetes abandoned at a site during a late-night operation in the Sorabaria area of Kaliganj upazila, Jhenaidah on Sunday night. The pistol was marked “Made in India.” No arrests were made during the raid.
Police said a suspect named Masud fled the scene during the operation. His courtyard yielded the Indian-made pistol, three rounds of ammunition, and two sharp machetes. Masud Hossain is reportedly facing over ten cases, including those related to firearms and murder.
OC Shafiqul Islam of Kaliganj Police Station confirmed that the army’s raid recovered the weapons and ammunition, but no one was apprehended.
