ATM Masum: People want to vote for Jamaat, candidates announced for 300 constituencies

'The people of this country no longer want the mess created by Awami fascism'

ATM Masum, assistant secretary of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, said the people want to vote for Jamaat, which is why candidates have been announced for all 300 constituencies.

He made the comment as the chief guest at the Ward Presidents’ Conference of the district Jamaat, held at the Lakshmipur Town Hall Auditorium on Friday afternoon, reports Bangla Tribune.

Masum said: "The people of this country no longer want the mess created by Awami fascism. They do not want oppression, torture, or fabricated cases. The public is now united. Over the past ten months, Jamaat has gained the trust of the people. The people want to vote for Jamaat.

"They say that although they have tried many parties, the desired outcome has not been achieved. Now, they want to put their trust in Jamaat. That is why, in response to public expectations, candidates have been announced for all 300 constituencies."

At the event, Masum announced the names of mayoral candidates for four municipalities, chairman and vice-chairman candidates for five upazilas, and chairman candidates for 54 union councils in Lakshmipur, ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
