Two people, including a woman, died after being run over by separate trains in Chirirbandar, Dinajpur.
The deceased are Anjuman Ara, 60, wife of Afzal Hossain from Basudebpur village of the upazila, and Ziyabur Rahman, 40, son of Entazul Haque from Gofur Shah Para in Paschim Saitara village, reports Bangla Tribune.
According to police and local sources, around 12pm on Friday, Ziyabur jumped under the Banglabandha Express train as it was entering the station en route to Panchagarh and died on the spot.
Earlier, around 9:30am, Anjuman was crossing the road near the railway station when she was hit and killed instantly by the Dolonchapa Express train heading to Parbatipur.
Reihan Ali, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Dinajpur Railway Police, said that since there were no complaints from the families and following their requests, the bodies were handed over to the family members without conducting a postmortem.
Two separate accidental death cases have been filed in connection with these incidents, he said.
