The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) returned two Bangladeshi college students, who had been detained while making TikTok videos in the Indian territory along the Naogaon border, to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday.
The two are Mohammad Minhazul Islam, 23, and Tamim Ahmed Sourav, 23, students of Naogaon Degree College and Sapahar Government Degree College, respectively.
Locals said that on Monday afternoon, when five to six friends entered Indian territory through the Bamnopara border in Aihai union of Sapahar upazila to make TikTok videos and take selfies, BSF members detained the duo.
On receiving the information, a BGB team went to the spot to rescue them but failed.
Later, a flag meeting took place between the BSF and BGB and the students were handed over to the BGB.
Lt Col Sadikur Rahman, commandant of the BGB-16 Battalion in the district, said they handed over the students to the police after receiving them from the BSF.
Sapahar police station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Aziz said a case has been filed against them for trespassing into India.
