In light of the recent surge in Covid-19 infections in India and several other countries, the authorities at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport have adopted a state of heightened vigilance.
Following directives from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), monitoring and health safety measures have been reinforced at the immigration and health desks of the airport as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.
This information was confirmed by Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, public relations officer at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport.
He said: “Covid-19 infections have seen a rise in neighboring India and various other countries. To prevent a possible spread within Bangladesh, the Shah Amanat International Airport authorities have undertaken a series of precautionary measures.”
Among the measures implemented are the installation of health screening equipment at the entry points of the international arrival hall immigration area.
The Shah Amanat International Airport medical team has arranged for contactless body temperature screening of incoming passengers using thermal scanners.
Mandatory mask-wearing directives have been issued for all individuals at sensitive points within the terminal.
Furthermore, emergency stockpiles of adequate masks and gloves have been ensured for the airport’s health personnel.
