Police recovered the bodies of two boys from a pond near Palashbari Kamal Garments in Ashulia on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were students of a madrasa.
The bodies were sent to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue in the capital for autopsy.
Family sources said the two boys, who used to live with their parents in a rented house in the Baipail area, went out to play on Wednesday afternoon and had been missing since then.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashulia police station Sohrab Al Hossain said no signs of injury were found on their bodies.
“It is initially believed that the two children drowned in the pond,” he said.
